🍃 HAEWON — Early green-fleshed kiwi
With its very sweet and flavorful flesh, HAEWON represents a very promising opportunity to open new markets.
It features an attractive presentation, bright green pulp, and juicy, aromatic texture with a high sugar level.
The fruit has a light brown skin, a large size (around 105 g), and a regular elongated shape, combining great taste with excellent visual appeal.

☀️ HAEGEUM — Golden fleshed kiwi with exceptional eating quality
HAEGEUM stands out for its very flavorful and sweet flesh, bright yellow pulp, and juicy, aromatic profile with a high sugar content.
Its shiny brown skin, large size (about 100 g), and strong visual brightness make it an attractive variety for premium segments.

How to encourage producers to invest in a resistant and productive yellow kiwi variety?

After conquering kiwi industry professionals at specialized trade shows, the Haegeum variety is now establishing itself as a major innovation: a yellow kiwi variety of high qualitative level available from December to May.
To mark this advancement, SOFRUILEG organized on September 16, 2025, the Haegeum Day, a unique event bringing together producers, distributors, and industry stakeholders.

On the program: technical workshops to deepen know-how, opportunities for exchanges between professionals, and the discovery of a Haegeum orchard in Montardon (64).

The day ended as producers already committed, others still considering, and European partners curious to explore the prospects offered by this new variety gathered in a plenary session.

Welcomed by AGROCAMPUS 64, students, professionals, and partners were able to share their expertise and vision around this fruit of the future.

At the last International Fruit and Vegetable Show FRUITLOGISTICA in Berlin, SOFRUILEG revealed the new visual identity that NERGI® punnets will feature for the next marketing season from August to November 2025 in the berry section of the main European brands. The new design is intended to be in line with the brand’s values ​​of naturalness and in line with consumer profiles. Since its launch 20 years ago in 2005, more than 45 million consumer units have been successfully marketed, particularly in Germany, Scandinavia and the UK. The NERGI® concept now brings together 140 partner growers spread between Portugal, Italy, France and Ukraine. SOFRUILEG aims to continue developing its surface areas in the coming years to meet the growing demand from consumers attracted by the NERGI® minikiwi.

SOFRUILEG at the SIFEL-VINITECH exhibition in Bordeaux (FRANCE) – november 2024 – Promising contacts for kiwi production projects for green and golden kiwi !

Consumption of NERGI® mini kiwifruit is rising steadily in Northern European markets, where the market for fruit berries remains buoyant. The sweet and acidulous taste of NERGI® mini kiwifruit delivers a delightful taste experience to consumers, adults and children alike.

Today, German and Scandinavian households largely endorse the consumption of fruit berries and NERGI® mini kiwifruit. Leading retail networks were quick to promote the product, and consumers are following suit. While some consumers see it as a way of promoting healthy, tasty food, others choose it for convenience and ease of use. Although French and Italian consumers appear to be adopting the product more slowly, consumer habits are changing and the outlook for development is favourable.

« The product is available from mid-August to mid-November, in line with the brand’s quality specifications. This year, over 10 million 125 g punnets are expected to hit the shelves, mainly from our orchards in Portugal, Italy and France. »
